The new creative season of the “OPERA & PODIUM” project is officially open!
Dear friends! Today, at the Point of boiling “PROMTECHDESIGN,” inspired by the new theme of the project, we joyfully launched the enchanting, fantastical, and magical new season “A Fairy Tale in Russian OPERA.”
This season, we anticipate that participants will prepare five excerpts from the OPERAs of N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov: “The Tale of Tsar Saltan” and “The Golden Cockerel,” P.I. Tchaikovsky’s “Iolanta,” S.P. Banevich’s “The Story of Kai and Gerda,” and S.S. Prokofiev’s “Love for Three Oranges.” So many aspiring participants gathered for our creative meeting that the spacious hall could barely accommodate everyone. This is no coincidence, as working with such mentors as those in our project is a rare opportunity for professionals, let alone students. Words of encouragement, advice, and recommendations came from the esteemed artist of Russia, Galina Ivanovna Kiseleva, People’s Artist of Russia, Yuri Konstantinovich Laptev, and Honored Artist of Russia, Irina Nikolaevna Safronova.
Future actors, directors, artists, designers, engineers, technologists, as well as make-up stylists will be part of our participant teams this season and, under the watchful guidance of our mentors, will complete the entire cycle of stage production—from creating the concept for the OPERA scenes to the gala concert, which will take place in the spring at the concert hall of the Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, accompanied by the symphony orchestra of the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov.
