The Mariinsky Palace hosted a successful concert of classical Russian opera.
Yesterday the Rotunda of the Mariinsky Palace was a great success with a concert of Russian opera classics performed by young project participants – laureates and winners of a special prize from the Legislative Assembly of St Petersburg. The concert took place as part of the programme of events timed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Legislative Assembly of St Petersburg and the 180th anniversary of the completion of the construction of the Mariinsky Palace. Our performers gave the guests of the evening several opera excerpts and performed a scene from Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan. The hall gave us a standing ovation! We thank our wonderful teachers-mentors and talented young participants – make-up artists, costume designers and soloists, who made this evening unusually bright, musical and festive. Photo and video reports will appear in our group very soon.
