Yesterday the project ‘OPERA & PODIUM’ and the collaboration of two universities – Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design and Saint Petersburg State Conservatoire named after N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov were presented within the preview of the XXIXth International Festival of Fashion, Art and Design ‘Admiralty Needle’.
The evening, filled with the charm of Russian opera and the intriguing mood of an immersive show, an exclusive fashion defile was held in the historical interiors of the palace of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich.
In the large white dance hall, the show of costumes made by students and graduates of SPbSUITD was followed by musical excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s operas ‘Eugene Onegin’ and ‘Queen of Spades’ presented by our student teams.
The exquisite luxury of the palace overlooking the Bolshaya Neva and the Peter and Paul Fortress, professional voices of the artists, costumes and multimedia scenery transported the guests of the evening to the musical living room, where centuries and styles mixed, where fashion intertwined with theater, and theater descended from the stage to an improvised podium.
